Sort of. As part of the coverage of the larger iPhone outrage, highlighting both ruinediphone.com and iphoneincanada.ca, Global TV featured a snippet of the Open Letter to Ted Rogers that we recently posted. This is pretty cool, and even cooler is the realization that whoever put it in the feed (without any attribution, sadly) must’ve had to spend a bit of time finding a segment safe to show, considering how many times words like “douchebag” were used.
In related news, we’d like to take a tiny bit of credit for whatever minor role we may have played in Rogers announcing temporary plans of $30/month for 6GB of data. Sure, you have to get it by August 28th to take advantage, and, sure, it’ll go away after because apparently no one getting a phone after that will care about getting good data rates, but we take our victories where we can get ‘em.
Looking at the online reaction to this, it seems that most people are realizing that this a very patronizing move, and aren’t being placated by it, to which I can only say excellent.
